Lisa Edelstein was an American actress who is best known as the actress who starred in Fox's House medical drama. In a very strict Jewish upbringing she moved from Wayne into New York City when she aged 18 and began attending Tisch School of the Arts. Then, in the course of time she was active in the club scene, making enough splashes that she was seen by the media and simultaneously, she became aware of the devastation of AIDS. She utilised both her musical training and fame to make and appear in a musical of her own, Positive Me. Soon after she was recruited by MTV to host Awake on the Wild Side. Following the end of the series the show, she began appearing on the film and television industry, initially in smaller parts, but gradually establishing her acting career.
